I was tagged by brionybree. Thanks, darlin’! I love these questions!

Rule 1: Always post the rules.

Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked and write 11 new ones.

Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to the post.

1. If you could change just one thing that happens in the Hunger Games (book) series, what would it be (and why)?

I really do feel like even the most horrible things that happen have an important purpose (like I absolutely hate that Prim dies, but the message is clear: going to war to liberate a nation was essential, but with war there will always be senseless loss of the innocent, and there is something so poignant and painful about Katniss losing the one person she set out to save) but I do wish that Finnick had survived the war so he could live in peace and happiness and freedom with Annie and their child. I do also wish that Katniss and Gale could have had like a tiny moment of closure, not reconciliation necessarily, but a moment of reflection after they had had time apart to heal and settle (mostly for my roommate littleritchie  because she adores Gale). Also shameless plug, if you feel similarly maybe check out my WIP ( boobooboo888 ).

2. Would you rather date someone who is 10 years younger than you or 10 years older?

I never thought I would feel this way, but older I guess. It would be nice to have a partner who has his act together and knows how to be an adult - while still maintaining the spirit and liveliness of youth! Just in a responsible way. :)

3. What would you do in life if you knew you wouldn’t fail?

I’ve always wanted to write a book. Or maybe start an environmental non-profit.

4. Would you rather sing well or dance well?

Dance, for sure. I have no sense of rhythm (although I love dancing like a crazy person at weddings). Also I think I already have a pretty good sinigng voice. :)

5. If you were to get a tattoo (or another tattoo), what would it say? Or what would it be a graphic of?

I’m not sure I would ever be able to get a tattoo, I change my mind too much about everything. Actually my mom tried to get my to promise that I would never get a tattoo and I said I couldn’t do that because I really can’t predict the future, but I said she probably didn’t have to worry anyway because my personality is such that I would likely never commit something to ink and skin out of fear that I would grow to hate the font or the placement or evolve my thoughts on whatever message or symbol I had chosen. But all that being said, I kind of love the bird tattoos that Tris gets in Divergent. Or possible a lovely poetic lyric or line from scripture. Something positive and life affirming that would remind me to always be better than I want to be, reach higher and love harder.

6. Who do you admire the most (and why)?

Oh goodness. So many people. I am sort of a magpie for impressive, admirable, inspiring people. I pretty much have giant crushes on all my friends for being such fabulously strong, intelligent, loving, compassionate people. And my parents and my grandmothers inspire me daily. I also really admire women like Taylor Swift, Mindy Kaling, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, J. K. Rowling, Emma Watson and Emma Stone (just off the top of my head) for working hard to spread positivity and intellect and wisdom and wit throughout the world. And the Green brothers, John and Hank for charging me with the challenge of imagining others complexly and going confidently out into the world loving things un-ironically and decreasing world suck!

7. If you could hold a record for something in the Guinness Book, what would it be?

Whoa, this is a fantastic question. Most cats loved? Most butterflies saved? Most Valentines cards mailed on not-Valentines day? (I believe in the every day Valentine.)

8. If you could recast one actor in The Hunger Games movies, who would you pick and why?

I have never really connected with Prim, although the actress is darling and I think does her best to portray a character who is pretty high up on the pedestal Katniss puts her on.

9. What is your favorite word in the English language?

Oh wow, it’s so hard to think of a favorite off the top of my head. I love so many words! One of my good friends also loves words and we have a “list” (in quotes because I don’t think it’s actually documented anywhere) of words we love. Boondoggle. I will go with boondoggle for now.

10. What was the first record or album you ever bought?

That I personally bought? Probably one of the early Harry Potter soundtracks. Or maybe Hilary Duff’s Metamorphosis? Hard to say.

11. What does your room (or office, if you prefer) look like?

It’s sort of a weird shape, which was a challenge at first but I like it now because my bed is in a sort of “cave”/alcove. I have two bookshelves, a giant papasan chair full of skirts, a closet with a gigantic box of yarn in it, a desk covered in craft supplies, grey walls, lovely dark grey curtains, and currently a sleeping cat with a lovely striped tail.

These questions are really good! I changed a few and kept a few that I really really like!

My Questions!

1. If you were a Crayola crayon, what color would you be? (Points for creativity! Are you purple mountain’s majesty? macaroni and cheese? tangerine?)

2. If you could get a message to 5 year old you, what would you tell yourself?

3. What is your favorite obscure word, in any language, that you wish was used more often? What does it mean?

4. If you could hold a record for something in the Guinness Book, what would it be?

5. Who do you admire the most, and why?

6. What would you do in life if you knew you wouldn’t fail?

7. Are you most productive early in the morning or late at night?

8. If you could change something in your favorite movie, book, or TV series, what would it be?

9. If you were to get a tattoo (or another tattoo), what would it be of and why?

10. “It is possible to believe in something and still fail to live up to it.” -Dr. James Wilson, House M.D.

What principle or ideal do you strive to live out and struggle with? (Mine is reacting with love and compassion first, especially when the other person doesn’t seem to deserve it. I definitely do not achieve this most days.)

11. I’m going to end with a challenge, because I am still heartsick from the #CharlestonShooting. What message of positivity do you wish there was more of in the world? How can you spread that message today, even in a small way?
